Common Questions

Questions, answered.

The honest answers patients ask for most — about veneers, implants, what makes a result look natural, and what to expect along the way.

What's the difference between a veneer and a crown?

A veneer is a thin facing bonded to the front of a healthy tooth to refine its shape, length, and color while conserving as much natural structure as possible. A crown covers the whole tooth and is used when a tooth is weakened, heavily restored, or needs full-coverage strength. Often the best plan uses both — each tooth treated according to its needs — so the final result is seamless and completely intentional.

Will my veneers look natural, or obviously "done"?

Natural is the entire point. Every case is designed around your face — proportion, color, and translucency — so the result reads as your own teeth on their best day, not a uniform, overly white set. The goal is enhancement, not transformation: still you, just better.

How long do veneers last, and how do I care for them?

With sound design and consistent care, well-made porcelain veneers can stay bright and stable for many years. They're maintained like natural teeth — good daily hygiene, regular maintenance visits, and a nightguard if you grind. A beautiful smile is an investment, and like any investment, it's protected through upkeep.

What is a "trial smile," and why does it matter?

Before anything permanent is placed, we can preview your new smile with a trial mock-up. It lets us evaluate how everything looks, moves, supports, and frames your face in real time — so every detail can be refined before the final step. It's one of the most important parts of achieving a result that stays natural, balanced, and uniquely yours.

Do I need orthodontics before veneers?

Sometimes. If teeth are significantly crowded or misaligned, moving them first can lead to a more conservative, healthier, and longer-lasting result than masking their position with porcelain. We'll tell you honestly whether aligning first serves your outcome — the priority is always doing it right, not fast.

What is All-on-X / full-arch, and who is it for?

All-on-X is a fixed, full-arch restoration supported by a few strategically placed implants — a permanent solution for someone missing most or all of their teeth, facing failing teeth, or living with an ill-fitting denture. The mouth is treated as one unified system, restoring both function and a natural appearance.

What does "smile design" actually involve?

Thoughtful smile design restores structure and creates subtle balance and support across your features, in proportion to your face. It's carefully planned rather than improvised — and the goal isn't change for its own sake, it's harmony.

What does treatment cost, and is financing available?

Every plan is tailored, so the investment depends on what your case involves. We'll walk you through it transparently at your consultation, with no surprises — and if financing would help make the right plan more accessible, we're glad to discuss the options available.

I'm not local — can I be treated as an out-of-town patient?

Yes. Patients travel from across the U.S. and internationally. We can begin with a virtual consultation and coordinate your visits efficiently around your travel, so distance doesn't stand between you and the right result.

Still have a question?

Every smile begins with a conversation. Request a private consultation and we'll discuss your goals and the right approach for your face and function.
